RPF Inkotanyi renews its cooperation with PCT of Congo Brazza

The RPF Inkotanyi has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Congolese Labour Party (Parti Congolais du Travail – PCT) during high-level engagements held in Brazzaville.

On Sunday 28th December, the Secretary General of RPF Inkotanyi, Amb. Christophe Bazivamo, led a party delegation to the 6th Ordinary Congress of the PCT in Congo Brazzaville.

In his address to the congress, Amb. Bazivamo conveyed fraternal greetings from H.E. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda and Chairman of RPF Inkotanyi.

He expressed satisfaction with the strong similarities between the two ruling parties, particularly in inclusive governance and people-centred leadership, noting that both organisations are guided by shared values and a common vision of national development.

Amb. Bazivamo reiterated RPF Inkotanyi’s resolve to deepen party-to-party cooperation and, through these political formations, further strengthen bilateral relations between Rwanda and the Republic of Congo.

The Secretary General highlighted that RPF Inkotanyi and PCT share a long history of political struggle rooted in the same aspiration: building sovereign, stable nations focused on the progress and welfare of their citizens.

Beyond political dialogue, cooperation between the two ruling parties has also been reflected in joint community-oriented initiatives.

A notable example is the Umuganda community work conducted on 26 November 2022 in Rwanda, which was led by representatives of the two countries and spearheaded by the Embassy of Congo Brazzaville in Rwanda.

During that activity, about 2,000 trees were planted in Mburabuturo, Gikondo Sector, Kicukiro District, with all seedlings provided by the Congolese Embassy.

The initiative marked the 64th anniversary of the Republic of Congo’s independence and celebrated 40 years of diplomatic relations between Rwanda and Congo Brazzaville, with a strong focus on environmental protection, particularly the conservation of the Congo River Basin.

Through such political engagement and people-centred actions, RPF Inkotanyi and PCT continue to demonstrate their shared commitment to cooperation, solidarity and sustainable development for the benefit of their citizens and the wider region.
